EuroHPC Users Days Workshop
SPE Workshop #1
The first SPE workshop will take place on 24 September 2026 in Dublin, Ireland, alongside the EuroHPC Users Days. The workshop will focus on the presentation of the SPE Initial Vision, outlining the first strategic reflections on the future of European computing beyond the Exascale era. The objective is to engage with experts, collect their feedback and gather new perspectives to enrich the roadmap development process.
Three objectives to guide the discussions
The workshop has three main objectives:
- Identify the key elements to be included in the first iteration of the SPE roadmap and define how they should be structured.
- Discuss priority topics that could lead to future SPE policy papers and position papers.
- Gather initial ideas and recommendations on future funding schemes, processes and organisational models for post-Exascale Europe, contributing to the preparation of the 2028–2034 work programme.
To foster open discussions and cross-domain exchanges, the workshop will adopt a World Café format. Participants will rotate between thematic discussions addressing key topics identified in the initial vision, allowing experts from different backgrounds to share their views, challenge assumptions and contribute to shaping Europe’s future priorities in HPC, AI and Quantum Computing and Simulation.
