Defining Europe’s strategic direction
SPE develops a European roadmap for post-Exascale computing, identifying key challenges, emerging technologies, and future needs across the full computing stack. This roadmap is continuously updated through expert input and community engagement.
A dedicated Policy Paper Factory complements this work by producing short, targeted policy briefs, helping decision-makers respond quickly to new challenges and opportunities.

European Ecosystem & Community of Practice
Connecting expertise across Europe
SPE builds a Community of Practice bringing together experts from academia, industry, and research infrastructures. Through workshops, challenges, and collaborative activities, the project:
- Encourages cross-domain collaboration
- Identifies gaps and disruptive ideas
- Engages new stakeholders and user communities
It also maps national strategies and key initiatives to strengthen coordination across Europe.

Global Leadership
Positioning Europe on the world stage
SPE ensures strong international engagement by collaborating with leading global initiatives in HPC, AI, and QCS. It plays a key role in the International post-Exascale (InPEx) initiative by co-organising global workshops and representing Europe’s vision.
Through these efforts, SPE helps align global roadmaps and reinforces Europe’s leadership in next-generation computing.
