Strategy for Post Exascale

 About SPE

Shaping Europe’s future at the convergence of HPC, AI and Quantum Computing

The Strategy for Post Exascale (SPE) project addresses one of Europe’s most pressing technological challenges: preparing for the convergence of High-Performance Computing (HPC), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Quantum Computing and Simulation (QCS) in the post-Exascale era.

SPE’s ambition is to develop a dynamic, forward-looking European roadmap that anticipates technological shifts, integrates emerging ideas, and strengthens Europe’s global leadership in advanced computing.

How We Work: Bridging Foresight and Action

SPE blends top-down foresight, analyzing national strategies, tech trends, and global policies, with bottom-up engagement through open expert calls and dynamic working groups. This dual approach ensures we capture both established perspectives and groundbreaking ideas, translating them into actionable recommendations for Europe’s digital future. Flexibility is key: we actively invite external experts to enrich our insights and keep the roadmap agile and inclusive.
